What We Believe

Core Principles and Values Guiding Our Mission

What We Believe About the Bible

The Holy Bible, consisting of 2 Testaments, 66 books, 1,189 chapters, and 31,102 verses, is acknowledged as the Word of God, as affirmed in II Timothy 3:16. Despite being written by fallible humans, every word in the Bible is infallible, inspired by the incorruptible God, as stated in II Peter 1:19-21.

What We Believe About God the Father

Throughout human history, numerous false gods, often referred to as man-made idols, have been acknowledged, as described in Psalm 96:5. However, we worship the one true and living God, the Creator of all things and the same God revered by Israel, as stated in Deuteronomy 6:4.

What We Believe About Jesus Christ, the Son of God

The Old Testament contains over 400 prophecies about the coming of a Messiah, and Jesus Christ is the only individual who has fulfilled each one, as confirmed in Hebrews 10:7. This fulfillment underscores His unique and divine role in human history and salvation.

The Integrity of the Canon

We believe in a closed canon, meaning the scriptures are complete and should remain unaltered. This belief is based on Galatians 1:8-9, which instructs us not to add to, take away from, or distort the teachings of the apostles and prophets. The sanctity and completeness of the Bible are paramount.

The Nature of God

Spiritual Essence: God is a Spirit, a truth articulated in John 4:24. This spiritual nature defines His essence and sets Him apart from physical entities and man-made idols.

Eternal, Immortal, and Invisible: God's eternal nature is highlighted in I Timothy 1:17. He exists beyond time, is immortal, and remains unseen to the human eye, encompassing a divine mystery.

Omnipresence: His presence extends everywhere, as expressed in I Kings 8:27. This omnipresence signifies that God exists in all places at all times, transcending physical boundaries.

Omniscience: God's all-knowing nature is depicted in Psalm 147:5. His omniscience encompasses all knowledge, past, present, and future, understanding all aspects of creation and human experience.

Omnipotence: As the Almighty, God holds all power, as shown in Acts 17:24-25. This omnipotence means He has unlimited authority and capability to accomplish His divine will.

Sole Divinity: Emphasized in Psalm 86:10, He alone is God. This singular divinity underscores the belief that no other entity shares His divine nature or authority.

In this belief, we recognize the unique and unparalleled nature of God the Father, affirming His supreme and singular position in our faith and the universe.

The Unity with God the Father

Oneness with the Father: Jesus is not a separate entity from God the Father. This unity is articulated in John 10:30, emphasizing the inseparable nature of Jesus and the Father.

Incarnation of the Father: Jesus is the Father incarnate, as prophesied in Isaiah 9:6, Matthew 1:23, John 14:8-10, and Colossians 2:9. This incarnation means that in Jesus, the divine and human natures are united.

The Redemption Through Jesus

The Necessity of Perfect Blood: To redeem humanity from sin, perfect human blood had to be shed. The challenge was that only God is perfect, but only a human could shed blood.

Divine Solution: In response to this need, the one true God chose to humble Himself by taking on human form. This profound act of humility and love is depicted in II Corinthians 5:19, Philippians 2:5-8, and I Timothy 2:5, where God's incarnation as Jesus Christ is seen as the ultimate expression of divine love and redemption.

Through Jesus Christ, God bridged the divine and human, offering redemption and salvation. This belief in Jesus as both God and man is central to our understanding of the Christian faith and God's plan for humanity.

What We Believe About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit, the presence of God's Spirit, exists not only beyond our world but has been actively involved in it since creation, as indicated in Genesis 1:2. The Spirit is woven throughout the scriptures, representing the active presence of the one, true, Almighty God in our universe and particularly in the lives of believers.

The Nature of the Holy Spirit

Presence of God, Not a Separate Being: The Holy Spirit is not viewed as a third separate personal being of God. Instead, it is understood as the Spirit of God Himself, stepping out from the unexplainable mysteries of deity to become personal in our lives. This concept is illustrated in John 7:37-39.

Animating Spirit of Christ: The Holy Spirit is the same Spirit that gave life to Jesus Christ during His earthly ministry, as described in John 14:16-18 and Romans 8:9-11. This connection highlights the integral role of the Spirit in the life and work of Jesus for humanity's redemption.

The Role of the Holy Spirit

Spirit of Truth: Known as the Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit guides believers into all truths essential for life and godliness. This guiding role is emphasized in John 16:13, where the Spirit is shown to lead believers into deeper understanding and knowledge.

In this belief, the Holy Spirit is seen not as a distinct person of the Godhead but as the very essence and active presence of God in our lives. The Spirit's work is central to understanding God's interaction with humanity and our personal experience of the divine.

What We Believe About Salvation

Salvation is fundamentally about being delivered from sin and its eternal consequences. This deliverance is not something we can achieve on our own; it is the work of God. As stated in Ephesians 2:8-9, no person can earn their way into Heaven. It's not our own works that save us, but rather Christ's work within us.

The Five Steps of Salvation

Belief and Confession: Recognizing Jesus as the only true God and confessing faith in Him. This is emphasized in scriptures such as John 3:16, John 14:6-7, Romans 1:16, and Romans 10:9-13.

Repentance: Turning away from our sins, as highlighted in II Chronicles 7:14, Luke 13:3 & 5, Acts 3:19, Acts 17:30, and I John 1:9.

Water Baptism: Being baptized in the name of Jesus, as instructed in Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Luke 24:47, John 3:5, Acts 8:16, Acts 10:47-48, Acts 22:16, and I Peter 3:20-21.

Infilling of the Holy Ghost: This is evidenced by speaking in other tongues, as seen in Matthew 3:11, John 3:5-8, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 19:6, Romans 8:9-11, and Galatians 4:6.

Obedience and Holiness: Living a life dedicated to God's holiness, as shown in John 14:15, Romans 6:16, Titus 2:11-12, II Corinthians 6:17-18, Hebrews 12:14, and I John 1:7.

Each of these steps reveals the work of Christ being completed in an individual's life, guiding them towards salvation.
